Air Works Aviation Academy
Creating careers from passionWith its rich legacy of seven decades, Air Works commands a well-deserved premium for its domain expertise, top-notch service standards and quality workmanship, and is widely respected by customers and industry alike. To ensure the propagation of its unique culture and industry-leading way of working, Air Works decided to once again establish an in-house Maintenance Training Academy on the lines of its erstwhile training school that operated in the 1980s. The new Academy will not only enable Air Works to attain self-sufficiency for its own training needs in line with its exacting standard but will also foster growth and support professionalism in the prevailing training environment in the country.
Air Works Aviation Academy (AAA) gained its wings in August 2019, after receiving regulatory approval from India’s DGCA for conducting Type Training B1 and B2 courses for Airbus A320 family under DGCA CAR 147, making Air Works also a Maintenance Engineering and Examination organization. As on date, close to 100 trainees have successfully passed out of the Academy. Air Works is also authorized to award appropriate certifications to qualifying students from its academy for its approved range of 147 courses.
The growing Academy offers courses in both classroom and online mode. Training is imparted by handpicked and highly experienced instructors who themselves are Subject Matter Experts (SME) with over 20 - 40 years of individual domain experience.
The success and appeal of Air Works Aviation Academy can be gauged from the fact that in its very first year, it has imparted training to more than 500 students from both domestic and foreign institutes, strengthening the quality as well as the availability of highly skilled professionals not just for the MRO sector in India, but for aviation worldwide. Given Air Works’ rich aviation legacy, AAA can assist aspiring organizations in creating their in-house training framework including specialized training solutions as well as practical training.
In line with its strategy, Air Works Aviation Academy will commence additional training programs including certain innovative ones over the coming months. The Academy aims to become a Centre of Excellence for imparting qualitative and specialized training to talented individuals who possess an analytical mindset and wish to transform their passion for aviation engineering and maintenance into a highly responsible and richly fulfilling career.
